We all operate from an personal ideology, that is, a manner of thinking that characterizes us individually. Ideology is typically taught to us by our group of association and culture we participate in. This establishes our common assumptions, beliefs and doctrines which are shared by the members of our social order.

Our ideology rides on assumption referred to as paradigmatic. Paradigmatic assumptions are structuring assumptions we use to order our world into functional groups or categories. Without challenge we won’t recognize them as assumptions. Even when pointed out we insist that they’re valid “facts” of reality, those facts as we assume them to be true. Paradigmatic assumptions solidify into personal beliefs making them the hardest of all assumptions to uncover, challenge and change.

All challenge to a person’s personal belief system invokes “cognitive dissonance”. The mental discomfort invoked in a person who process’s two or more contradictory beliefs. This discomfort is evoked when a person’s settled belief contradicts differing evidence presented to the them.

The idea is to examine the evidence of other ideas, concepts, theories and beliefs. Then juxtapose those against our own ideas, concepts, theories and beliefs for the express purpose of discovering truth. Dispelling the conspiracy’s in our truth system rooted in assumption, bias prejudice or insufficient reason or evidence.
